Today I was etched in the minds of many people. Yes, I did something that had a lot of people talking. But before I tell you what I did, I just need to rewind the clock back a little...
Right now not 1, not 2, but all 4 of my kids are sick. I'm talkin' snot sickles, congested coughs, fever... So today I carted my kids down to the pediatrician's office, got them all checked out and dropped the presciptions by the drug store (there were 7). Later I ran to Walmart to do some grocery shopping (yes with sick kids - don't judge me it's supposed to rain for the next few days). While pushing one of those gigantic shopping carts that are made for people with multiple kids, I managed to load the cart up and check out.
Phew, I made it. Oh wait, I have to go pick up the meds.
So off I went to the drug store. I got in the drive-thru line and managed to make it to the front pretty quickly which impressed me because it was 5 o'clock and there were a lot of people in the line.
My groceries will survive. I will make it home in time to cook dinner.
And here is what you have been waiting for. Apparently my 7 medications required mixing upon pickup. And as minutes passed by I began to notice the cars piling up behind me. One by one, until the cars were 6 deep. I wondered how the people behind me were doing. I know I wouldn't have had much patience if I were behind me.
And I waited for about 20 minutes. Yes, you heard correctly. Then suddenly to my right I noticed a woman walking up. Soon I realized she was checking to see what in the world was happening that would hold up the line for that long. She had a "mean" face on and I have to admit, I was a little scared. I watched her walk back and notify the other cars before she got in her car, backed up and drove away. Later she appeared inside the drug store and she still had that scary mean face on!! (I'm laughing as I write this!) And I realized that the "lady in the blue van" is probably topic for discussions for a handful of lucky husbands this evening.
Maybe I'm giving myself too much credit.
