Tuesday's Tool - Back to the Basics

Ahhh... Christmas time. Rushing here and there to find those perfect gifts for loved ones. Frantically buying, wrapping, cooking, baking. Long lines in stores and stop lights. Attending Christmas parties and school holiday programs. Pulling out Christmas decor. Putting lights on the house. Decorating the tree. Wearing the ugly sweater because it's the one time of year everyone else wears their ugly sweater. No wonder everyone breaths a sigh of relief when it's all over.

And this coupled with busy schedules, work and everything else that we have to do, it's a wonder we don't all loose our minds. So often the one thing we cut out of our day is our time with Jesus.

So here's where I want to encourage you this week. In the midst of all our busyness, we have to cling to the basics of walking with Jesus: reading the Bible and talking to Him - daily. We cut this out of our schedule because it's the one thing that doesn't protest when we don't do it! But spending time with Jesus is the absolute most important thing we could do in our day. And without Him, we are blindly walking. Right now stop and spend some time with Him. You say "Well I don't have time today because....." but you had time to stop and read this blog, right?!

Here's a verse to get you started... Proverbs 3:5-6
